… and I’ve been working like a dog …

Ok, I haven’t but I just couldn’t resist inserting some lyrics at the start of this blog entry. Everyone should recognise that as the lyrics of the famous Beatles song. Needless to say, the last couple days have felt rather hectic.

Yesterday, Marc came home early (he went to work early too), so that he could treat me to an evening at Monte Casino. First, we went to the bird park where I finally used my camera for the first time this year. I haven’t downloaded the pictures yet, but must have taken over 200 shots. I had loads of fun. From there, we went to dinner at Cantare, which is a fancy Greek restaurant. I chose that one because it was the only restaurant with the menu online and the food looked good.

We ended the evening by going to see the stage production of the Lion King. It’s been years since I’ve last been to something like this, but have to say, hats off! The show was amazing. Even if you do not enjoy stage productions that much, this one is mind-blowing. Any attempt to describe it would be futile. You have to see it for yourself.

The show lasted longer than we expected, but we really did not notice time going by. It was just that great. We finally got home and into bed around midnight. Marc was up early this morning again to join Charles in Pretoria, in some paintball fun. It’s not my idea of fun, so I told him to go ahead and enjoy himself. It seemed he had fun all right. Right up to the point where he slipped and sprained his ankle.  On his way home, he decided it was serious enough to go to hospital and somehow drove himself there and then back home again with a cast on his leg.

He is already in bed, where I will be going, in a moment. The picture I posted today was one I took last year as well. I just liked the way the garden sprinkler caught the light and washed down over the flowers.
